| DALE WY Oct 19 1977 — Union Pacific GP9 321 leads three Chicago and Northwestern units on a covered hopper train westbound on the number three track (the alternate main line) from Cheyenne. The locomotives have just cleared the final cut before joining track two. The alternate main line was opened on May 12 1953. EMD built the 321 (b/n 23677) in September 1957. It was retired In May 1979. On Oct 17 1979 it was sold to Precision National in Mount Vernon IL. My photo. |
