The End of an Era. Three or Portland & Western's high hood, first generation EMD power has been retired at this date. Only SD9 1852, still in Southern Pacific paint, continues to work the Oregon Electric Yard in Albany. Here, 1854 and black widow painted 1801 sit, waiting disposition. 1801 has been sold to BUGX and is awaiting transport. The future seems uncertain for 1854.
