A Portland, OR bound UP freight out of Seattle exits Milwaukee Road trackage at Tacoma Jct. for a short hop across the Puyallup River into UP's Tacoma yard on its own trackage. When it leaves the yard it will enter BN trackage near Tacoma Union Station to continue its run to Portland.
