| The hood of Illinois Central number 1439 sits on the ground at the Locomotive Specialist Facility in Waycross, Georgia. Anyone who has visited the Waycross area has probably seen the old IC 1439, as it has been sitting at the LOSX facility for many years. The engine and frame is in the shop going through a complete rebuild, and will eventually become part of the LOSX diesel locomotive roster. Photograph taken with permission from LOSX. |
