Amtrak's North Coast Hiawatha pops out of a tunnel just west of the top of Homstake Pass, providing passengers with a stunning daytime view of the Montana Rockies on its daytime run across western Montana. This train and a daily freight were the some total of traffic over NP's original crossing over the Continental Divide. Next stop, Butte.
