After traversing the industrial landscapes to the south of Johannesburg, the Shosholoza Meyl bound for Cape Town, known as Trans Karoo, finds itself immersed in the picturesque agricultural plattelands that characterize the western Highveld and North West. Along the steel highway, newly planted maize crops grace either side, painting a vibrant tableau of rural life.
