BN 9790 pokes its nose out of the diesel shop at Auburn, WA, a former Northern Pacific facility located between Seattle and Tacoma. A close look shows that this former BN passenger F7 still wears the hockey stick white stripe that differentiated it from freight Fs. Nonetheless BN 9790 would spend the rest of its career in freight service. The unit was built as NP 6513C and would get renumbered BN 724, lasting until November 1981.
