Just another day in the Sheepscot Yard. A WW&F "Director's Special" train is heading over to the water tank in the Sheepscot Yard, as a railroad official pulls alongside in his Model B pick-up truck, bringing some lunches for the passengers and crew.
What could be a scene right out of the early 1930s was not staged, but rather, is just something that occurs on a regular basis at Maine's Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum in the town of Alna. In this case, the "Director's Special" is actually a photo charter, taking visiting photographers out on the line to capture some winter scenes with the train, and it is indeed heading over to the Sheepscot Tank to top off the water supply before departure. The Model B just happened to arrive as the train was beginning to move. The truck is owned by museum member Stewart Rhine, who lives nearby and was just stopping by to collect some vintage lanterns which he had supplied for a photo session the night before.
