Metro-North diesel trains are led with the locomotive on the north end but occasionally they can be found leading south, opening up many photographic locations along the 27-mile Waterbury Branch. On a November morning in abundant sunshine in Ansonia, train 1957 led by leased CTrail GP40-3H 6698 passes by the derelict Farreles Factory. The Brookville BL20s are commonly plagued with mechanical issues, plus with them going out for rebuilding in Erie, PA, CTrail GP40s 6698 and 6699 fill that gap.
