      Remarks & Notes
Fresh Paint. On February 23, 2020, Sloss-Sheffield Steel & Iron #30 (DS4-4-660, Baldwin, 9/1948) sits in its long time home at the Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark. This locomotive is notable for never leaving the area after delivery from Pennsylvania. After many years of declining into a poor appearance, the organization had recently repainted it into these bright colors, If you've ever been on the Amtrak Crescent, you can see it as you slow to enter/exit the Birmingham Station.
