| Big BNSF power waits near the south end of the Dardanelle and Russellvlle for a sixty-car unit tie train to be assembled. Once the train is ready, these locos will lead it up a serious grade toward the UP interchange, with one or two of D&R's switchers shoving on the rear. This end of the line is near the Arkansas River, and D&R wages a constant struggle with the saturated soils. |
