| Built by Nippon Sharyo, the DR3100 was to expand the fleet for Tsz-Chiangmai Limited Express services on the Eastern Trunk Line in 1998. It became the remaining DMU-type in service after the completion of electrification works. The train only performs two round trips between Hualian and Shulin nowadays. |
