Victory lap. For both the Empress and the photographer. In 2011, my last visit to see her in action was met with "diesel substitute" as she went down with repair. She was repaired, tested....then mothballed by "the powers that be". 2023 saw a reversal of fortune and here we are. Never give up hope. Today's the first day of the Final Spike tour and riding the train is the Premiere of Alberta, Danielle Smith, which required a large rolling security motorcade from crossing to crossing....except in rural scenarios like this one.
