| A Conrail Browns Yard local to Lakewood is traversing the NJCL to enter the Southern Secondary at Red Bank, NJ. In July 2022, the Chesapeake & Delaware LLC began operations over the formerly Conrail operated Southern and Freehold branches. In 2023 the C&D reconnected the Freehold and Southern branches at Farmingdale thus bypassing the NJCL. Freight shots on the Navesink River Bridge NJCL may be a thing of the past. |
