A fast manifest hustles east on the former Nickel Plate Road Chicago-Fort Wayne mainline, while the daily local freight waits in the yard alongside a Speno train, on a very hot, hazy, and humid August day in 1981. It was always a good time and fun when my railfan sons tagged along with me on trackside adventures. Miss those days.
