Hot Night In Hot 'Lanta. A few months into regular operation since opening on December 30, 2014, then Atlanta Streetcar 1003 waits departure from the Centennial Olympic Park Station on the warm summer night of July 26, 2015. Car 1003 is one of four Siemens S70 light rail vehicles purchased for the 2.7 mile "Downtown Loop". In June of 2018, MARTA took over ownership and operation of the Atlanta Streetcar. In the background, the lighted SkyView Atlanta spins illuminating the scene. Opened in July 2013, the SkyView Atlanta ferris wheel is 200 feet tall and features 42 air-conditioned cars that give elevated views of the city.
