| Ge 4/4 III # 646 of the Rhaetian Railway in the "BüGA" publicity paint scheme pulls the IR 1133 of the line IR38 from Chur over the Albula line to St.Moritz, between Tiefencastel and Surava. The train has just passed through the “Brienzer Rutsch” area. The whole area with the village of Brienz on top slowly slides down the valley, sometimes up to 2 meters a year. The track of the Rhaetian Railway is affected by this shifting terrain over a length of up to around 2 kilometers and requires a great deal of maintenance. There is actually a permanent slow speed section. |
