      Remarks & Notes
The First Amtrak Train To Penn Station. On September 3, 2018, summer construction on the Spuyten Duyvil Bridge over the Harlem River had come to an end and the first Amtrak train of the season terminated at New York Penn Station. The bridge had been placed out of service in May, cutting Amtrak's access to NYP and sending all New York City bound trains to Grand Central Terminal. The Lake Shore Limited was a dedicated Chicago, Illinois to Boston, Massachusetts train for the season, but returned to NYP the day before the rest of the service in order to set up the following day's departure. Amtrak's mechanical folks were kind enough to hand wash a pair of P32AC-DMs for the occasion. They were placed elephant style on the train, with the second being sent to be left in Sunnyside as a protect engine.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
