    Remarks & Notes
The First R-32. After being sidelined with mechanical issues for more than a decade, MTA NYCT Subway R-32s 3350 and 3351 (1964, Budd) were brought to the shop for repair. These cars were the first of the 600 car order of stainless steel “Brightliners” that was a revolution in the construction of NYC subway cars, and they will be a part of the New York Transit Museum’s “Celebrating 60 Years Of Brightliners” event on Saturday, September 14, 2024. After 58 years of service, the R-32s were retired in 2022 with a series of “Farewell” trips. On the evening of Thursday, September 5, 2024, they are seen passing through the 190 Street Station (A Line), leading a 10-car train of R-32s during an equipment transfer move.
