| Ex-GP50: After finishing work at South Plainfield, Conrail's MA1 returns westbound on Conrail Lehigh Line Track #2 home to Manville Yard with a rebuilt ex-GP50 locomotive. NS 5804 was rebuilt from high-hood GP50 NS 7056 in August of 2004 and designated a GP38-3. Twenty years after its rebuild, the locomotive is still finding use, mostly with local trains. The engine was originally built for the Southern Railroad as SOU 7056. |
