Maryland & Delaware 1203 arrives at the Seaford interchange where 8 loaded boxcars will be picked up for delivery to Dart Container in Federalsburg. Not long after this visit it was announced that the parent company of Maryland & Delaware is getting out of the railroad business. It appears that Carload Express (Delmarva Central) will be taking over operations of all state-owned trackage operated by MDDE, plus a portion of the Snow Hill Line (the only line owned outright by MDDE). This is proposed to take effect in mid-October. Only time will tell what the future holds, but chances are this RS-3M's days are numbered.
