| As ore trains make their way south on the Iron Range Sub, they drop down grade out of Fairbank into Brimson. Once past Brimson, at MP 23, the railroad climbs 7 miles into Wales before the big stair step drop into Two Harbors. The railroad climbs a .60% grade as they gain around 200 feet in elevation and the highest point on this subdivision. Here, the engineer has these 3 C40s in run 8 as they make a run at the hill as they leave Brimson. Soon the weight of the pellets will have these ponies down to under 20 mph. |
