Dairyland’s Genoa Station #3, coal-fired 345 MW power plant, was retired on June 1, 2021, following 52 years of service. In 2023 works is about wrapping on dismantling this plant. A Grand Forks to the BRC rolls pass the old plant on the Aurora Sub. I see the Lansing, IA, plant to being torn down too. It will be odd to see the old coaling smoke stacks gone from these areas as you drive along the Mississippi River.
