      Sitting in Union Pacific's yard in Portola is General Electric Dash 8-40BW demonstrator 809. Built in October 1982 as GECX B36-8 606; rebuilt in 1986 to B39-8E 808 and rebuilt once again into Dash 8-40BW 808 sporting GE's prototype North American Cab, which has a shorter length, centered door and three windshields.
