"Geometry Warm-up @ Stamford Track 7"
On the evening of November 11, 2024, Metro-North Railroad's self-propelled Engineering Inspection Vehicle, 'IC 2020,' rests at the bumper block on Track 7 at Stamford Station on the New Haven Line in Connecticut. The crew conducts warm-up procedures in preparation for a night of testing.
IC 2020 was commissioned by Metro-North in 2016 and completed by ENSCO Incorporated in 2020. It features the latest laser, optical and inertial sensor systems to analyze the condition of the rail and track infrastructure, alerting onboard Metro-North engineering specialists to any track anomalies.
