MTA Metro-North Railroad GP40PH-2 4906 (née-EMDX 25, GP40) was placed on the east end of NJ Transit Train 76 on the morning of Monday, January 20, 2025, leading east into the sun from Port Jervis, New York to Hoboken, New Jersey. The vintage restored Erie Railroad depot in Tuxedo, New York is still blanketed in snow from the weather of the previous day. As a rule, the power for all diesel trains faces west, but in potential extreme weather situations, certain trains will have a locomotive on the east end to more easily clear snow that may have accumulated on the tracks.
