Just as the sun is about to appear, Amtrak train 405, a Hartford Line train operating from Springfield MA to New Haven CT, departs from Springfield behind P42DC 145 (wearing the carrier's Phase III paint scheme), two cars (coach 82606 and cab car 9640) and P42DC 112.
Once train 405 has left the staton, train 157 will head south and then back into the station on Track 4 for boarding. This Northeast Regional train,, with P42DC 96 pulling 8 cars, will be headed to Norfolk VA from Springfield.
