Long Island Rail Road alcohol train ALQ1 is seen heading east along the Main Line, approaching Woodside Station on track 1. The train consists of MP15AC locomotives 171 and 168 bookending converted M3 car E901, which has been modified to apply an alcohol solution to the third rail, preventing ice buildup that can cause electrical arcing. |
