| A handful of engines wait to pull the next set of empty cane trains out of the Clewiston mill as we pass the junction on the SCFE mainline aboard the Sugar Express. Today's two-hour trip took us down to Okeelanta on the Sugar Festival Spritzer. This year, Sugar Express has been expanding its excursion offerings, adding trains that serve alcohol on board. Some trips will go east down the SCFE Okeelanta branch whenever the Moore Haven block has too much rail traffic, offering a unique view of the yard. The only other way to view this yard is with a drone. |
