| 289 heads south across the Shenandoah River with the out of service section of the B-Line quite obvious in the foreground. The diamond at Riverton, where the Southern and N&W met, was last in service in late 2019/early 2020. When a derailment occurred in March 2021, the diamond was removed and the line was disconnected. This line is subject to a large local debate whether to make it a rail trail or "rails with trails" and a potential shortline/ tourist railroad. |
