Remarks & Notes

A westbound hopper train approaches Nevada on the CNW double main line through Iowa. The train is less than 25 miles from the next crew change point at Boone, Iowa. The Zito yellow Dash 8 trailing locomotive only lasted a couple of years in that paint scheme due to the poor paint and the baking sun in the Powder River Basin. The first two orders of Dash 8 locomotives were repainted by the end of 1991 in a darker yellow scheme. Scanned negative from September 1991.
