| The Iowa Northern smacked a large crane at the crossing at Mona Jct the day before. The accident put all 3 units and a bunch of coal cars in the ditch. The IANR was on their way to deliver coal at Cedar Falls when the driver of the crane never saw the train. He was lucky to walk away with minor injuries. The IANR didn't do as well, as 2 of 3 units (1894/2492) never ran again. This happened on the CCP trackage rights that the IANR uses, so they cleaned up the mess. Now trains are back running the next day. Here an eastbound slowly passes by the wreckage.
