Remarks & Notes

NYS&W's Utica Branch freight, UT-1, passes by the old DL&W depot and a decrepit wooden caboose as it crosses Genesee Street. Spring brings a big traffic surge on the old DL&W Utica Division to the feed mills at Sangerfield, and so the NYS&W leases CSX power to assist with the extra carloads, in this case CSX GP38-2 2722 behind Utica Branch staple 3040.
