View of the first-class compartment of BDZ diesel railcar 19001.7 in Kostinbrod. The compartment has a total of nine seats. The seats in the foreground, as well as the single seat on the other side of the aisle, can be rotated 180 degrees (only by staff) so that passengers can sit facing the direction of travel. The diesel railcar, with two underfloor engines each delivering 265 hp and a top speed of 125 km/h, was built in 1960 by Simmering-Graz-Pauker (SGP) in Vienna, Austria, as a demonstration vehicle, with first and second class compartments and a bar (prototype for the later ?BB 5047 series railcars). In 1965, the vehicle was sold to BDZ in Bulgaria and was used very rarely for special purposes for many years. The interior is largely in its original condition. Today, the vehicle is used as a special train for smaller travel groups.
