| Nine and a Half.
Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) CAF LRV no. 4327 is the lead unit on a Red Line train seen approaching to top of Mount Washington, operating via the Allentown Line. As the road signage indicates, grades on the line are quite steep, reaching a maximum of 9.5% on the edge of the mountain - a grade unheard of on most railroads, and nearing the limit of standard adhesion railway capability! |
