| More than a deacde old image. WCG2 #20127 (a pure DC loco operating in 1500 Volts DC) hauled 11009 Mumbai Pune Sinhagad Express pulls in for a scheduled halt at Monkey Hill cabin of Bhore Ghats on a magical monsoon evening light under heavy rains. This train use to serve as a staff shuttle in the Bhore Ghats (between Karjat and Lonavala) to ferry the staff to their respective base location. These locos are now retired and the line is charged to 25Kv AC. Also this train runs on revised time table now quite different from the previous one. Monkey hill also serves as a technical halt for the trains down the ghats, one can see the catch siding to the left along the up gradient. |
