On this day, the SBB Infrastructure measurement train traveled on behalf of BLS along its routes from Wolhusen via Willisau-Huttwil to Langenthal and Burgdorf-Ramsei-Sumiswald-Grünen in order to document the condition of the overhead contact line and the track. Re 460 # 118 “Gottardo,” the last in the series, pulls the SBB Infrastructure measurement car X 99 85 93-61 247-1, a second-class EW IV car, and a Bt control car as push-pull train 97023 Wolhusen-Huttwil-Langenthal-Burgdorf-Ramsei-Sumiswald-Grünen near Bollodingen between Herzogenbuchsee and Riedtwil. The measuring car's pantograph is on the contact wire, but the locomotive has lowered it and is being supplied with power via a 15 kV connection from the control car. This measuring train can check standard gauge lines in Switzerland at a maximum speed of up to 200 km/h. The measuring train of the SBB MUD (Mess- und Diagnosetechnik) is based in Bern Holligen.
