On the morning of June 23th, 2025, eastbound SLE train 1606, with Kawasaki M8s, passes the Miner Lane grade crossing along the Shore Line section of Amtrak's Northeast Corridor in Waterford, Connecticut. CTrail recognizes ENS Sign Awareness Day, observed on June 24, which highlights the importance of the blue and white Emergency Notification System signs posted at every railroad crossing. These signs display a unique crossing ID number and a toll-free emergency phone number, allowing the public to quickly report hazards such as stuck vehicles or malfunctioning gates so railroads can respond immediately to prevent accidents.
