In the pouring rain BB's daily train is roaring up the steep grade, generating that Run 8 EMD sound that shakes the earth and vibrates the ambient air. The second and third career locomotives, in their fifties, are magnificent and beautifully suited to the steep, crooked, isolated and scenic former C&O Mountain Line.
The "BB" was founded in 1988 and ran its first train on March 6, 1989. The BB has grown from 17 miles of track and two employees to 275 miles and 75 employees, spanning over Virginia in three separate divisions.
