| The great survivor. I saw this unit on an N&W local around 1966 and have followed it for years in the press. I had seen it rusting away and covered with vines. I'd been to Staunton several times and it was always dead and now, hurray! Today she's headed north for the daily run and I got to chase, listening to that great burble as she polluted the atmosphere in magnificent fashion. #1 favorite unit. |
