Passing under the Carquinez Bridge, which carries Interstate 80 across the Carquinez Strait and to, eventually, Teaneck, New Jersey, is Amtrak San Joaquin 712. Amtrak Non-Powered Control Unit 90278 (the former AMTK F40PH 278) leads this train as it heads from Oakland Jack London station to Bakersfield, with Amtrak California F59PHI 2010 providing muscle from the rear. This train consists of Siemens "Venture" cars, built in nearby Sacramento. (Crockett, California – June 24, 2025)
