Around this time, problems with the Silverliner V fleet caused Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) to lease equipment from other agencies to substitute for those cars in service while repairs were made. On July 22, 2016, SEPTA Train 1297 climbs the hill to 30th Street Station's upper level with Amtrak ACS-64 610 leading five leased Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) cars towards Newark, Delaware. The problems would be corrected over the next few weeks, and the leased equipment was returned.
