| Still fully functional an in use today is the EJ&E Kirk Yard Roundhouse. One of the functions of the Krirk Roundhouse is to keep the HUMP power in top shape for the long days on the hill. The GTW 5950 has the RCO upgrade to lead a Hump Set and is in the house for maintenance. Over the past 10 years CN has implemented massive upgrades and modifications to the operation of Kirk Yard. The new Fuel Dock and running repair area is state of the art. The fate of the "J" Roundhouse was questionable for a few years but thankfully has proven its worth and is still in use. With any luck the Roundhouse has a long future with CN. |
