| A typical view durring Finnish summer, but it's not typical to see three car long Pendolino unit with class Sr1s in each end. This particular unit happens to be the second prototype of the entire Sm3 series built by Fiat Ferroviaria. However, the prototypes met their withdrawal earlier than the rest of the Sm3s due to serious technical differences in contrast to the production model. Sm3 7102/7602 was hauled to Pieks?m?ki depot in June 2024, where it has sat ever since. Unexpectedly, half of it consisting of two driving cars and one ordinary coach were used on the test fields of Laajakangas for yet unknown reasons. It seems that the unit has completed its test as it is brought back to Pieks?m?ki where it shall wait the unknown fate what the future will eventually bring. The class Sr1 electric locomotives numbers 3040 and 3098 are responsible for the delivery. |
