This 2-8-8-2 articulated steam locomotive, number 2031, was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Great Northern Railway. It had a total engine and tender weight of 916,500 lbs., and a tractive force of 127,500 lbs. It was built in Eddystone, Pennsylvania, where my great, great Uncle Robert F. McKee, Sr., worked as a design engineer at Baldwin. This Baldwin Locomotive Works builders photo card is from the John R. Doughty collection.
