| The sad condition of the leased power is indicative of the grim condition of the "new"publicly-owned Northwestern Pacific. It would not be long before the FRA would close the railroad down for numerous safety violations. Eight years later the track is still (more or less) in place awaiting some kind of miracle to see trains again. This was my hometown railroad and I miss those spring weekends chasing trains. |
