Michigan Southern 908 goes on a short run between Hartford and Paw Paw, Michigan, about once a month. During that time, it's easy for the unpaved crossings to become covered with packed dirt due to rain-washed soil and traffic. The morning started out as a relaxing short run, but quickly turned to hard work as the engineer and conductor used a pick-axe and shovel to clear the rails.
