| The SERCO test train crosses the Kingsferry bridge from mainland UK to the Isle of Sheppey. Until last year this road/rail lifting bridge over the Swale was the only link the Islanders had with the mainland, shipping is quite busy and you can imaging the traffic queues as the bridge was raised several times a day. In the background can be seen the new high level road bridge, trains would have trouble with the grade! so the tracks have stayed on the old bridge. |
