Preserved "Big D" 40145 - one of Britain's first main line diesel types dating from 1958 - needs every ounce of its 2000hp to lift this Inverness-bound fantrip past the disused cabin at Dalnacardoch on the climb to Druimuachdar Summit on Scotland's Highland Line.
