| We are standing just north of the Delaware border waiting on the Chessie Steam Special when a local freight passes from the other direction. This is the Baltimore & Ohio's Philadelphia Division, and it's a bit of a time machine in this shot. Note the footboards still on the GEEP (they were officially banned as of 9/30/1978 by the FRA, a week after this). Also, check out the 1970 Pontiac pulling up to the crossing. GP9 #6538 arrived on the B&O in June of 1957. |
